What People Say About Crabwalk

Coaching and Workshop Participants

“Crabwalk is fantastic. The framework gave me a peace of mind around approaching goals that seemed too daunting before. I’m less fixated on my shortcomings and more confident, ready and able to tackle the things that stand in my way. Laura and Carly are the best.”

Julie P., Stand-up Comedian and Video Producer, NYC

I wanted to share a win: I launched the AI training camp this week and it was so much work that often threatened to overwhelm. But every time , I used the technique you taught me, Laura. Working backwards from the goals I want achieved by a certain date. And it worked like magic! My company leadership kept commenting on how prepared and organized the launch was. Thank you Laura and thank you Carly! ❤️❤️
— Taniya, New York City

Thank you! The motivation and positivity was so valuable today! I have absolutely been feeling like I HAVE to get a new job and it has been overwhelming and left me feeling more unhappy than I’d like to. The perspective shift and refocus to getting to the goal (and breaking it down) is so helpful!

Sarah H., Michigan

This was an incredibly helpful program and was just the jump start I needed to get me moving toward my career goals. I learned so much and I will continue to put the framework into practice as I work to achieve my goals. I'm very thankful for you both and for the incredibly creative work you've put into this program--it was very well done with a high level of professionalism. Worth every penny and hour spent!

Karen B., Communications Officer, Boston

I can confidently say that the workshop left me with concrete steps I can take to aspire to my goals as well as a genuine understanding of how I can break down the walls in my way.

It has been a fantastic experience participating in the Crabwalk program! I joined it to learn organizational and networking skills needed for pursuing a new professional initiative. But, the skills I learned (prioritizing important over sequential; nurturing your network; adapting to the situation — crabwalking sideways when needed) are proving just as useful in negotiating the uncertainties of covid while trying to homeschool three kids and work from home. Laura and Carly are awesome, generous coaches, whose teaching I daily use and expect to use personally and professionally for a long time.

Taniya ML, Scientist and Mom, NYC

That was one of the best Northwestern webinars I’ve attended. I’m thrilled that it was such an interactive forum with you and the rest of the participants. Nice job! Thank you very much.

Audrey C., New Business Development, Chicago, IL

I have loved the program as it was smart, refined, fun and it delivered beyond my expectations, in that it produced noticeably stronger than expected improvements in both my professional and personal accountability.

I just caught up on the recording of your webinar on leveraging your network in a pandemic, and I found it particularly helpful as I moved to London early last year and often feel I am (literally) on an island, away from professional contacts I developed in the states. Your framework has given me confidence and some great ideas on how to re-engage with people I care about.

We’re so grateful to the Crabwalk team for hosting their interactive “How do I do *X*? workshop for WeWork Food Labs Accelerator members. Community is strongly emphasized at Food Labs, and the Crabwalk program gave members tangible, efficient, and actionable goals and tools around how to leverage that community. I was amazed by Laura and Carly’s ability to help the group let go of distractions and engage fully with each other during the session. I think we all came away feeling connected, much less overwhelmed, and with clear game plans for how to accomplish the next challenge.

Carly and Laura presented a webinar on “How to Get Unstuck in 5-Steps.” The topic was relatable; the questions posed during the webinar teased out great comments by participants and the feedback Laura and Carly gave in real time was greatly appreciated. I moderate webinars all the time in my role at Northwestern and this was easily one of the best for content, engagement, and utility that I remember

Laura and Carly brought the Crabwalk workshop to my team’s Staff Summit. My goal was to teach my team how instructive and useful applying an entrepreneurial mindset is to their work here. The workshop was one of our highest rated of the days. I would absolutely do it again and recommend others bring the Crabwalk workshop into their organization.

I left with concrete steps I can take to aspire to my goals as well as a genuine understanding of how I can break down the walls in my way. Carly and Laura gave me that ability, and I am forever grateful for the impact that they served on my professional life.”
